Site History

westlifeweb.com is 100% unofficial. The site exists as a place to bring Westlife fans from all over the world together. It is run by fans, for the fans, an online community, where they can share their creativity, ideas and information.

The site was started way back on February 1st 1999. Initially being titled 'Susan's Westlife Web Site', the site changed name a couple of times, being known as 'Westlife - Web' up until January 2000 when the domain name westlifeweb.com was purchased.

The site grew rapidly with Westlife's popularity, and we soon began to receive hundreds of emails daily, with almost 1,000 unique visitors daily. We have an overwhelming number of contributors and visitors who are very much valued for their input into the site, helping to maintain our position as the Internet's number one Westlife fansite. In August 2003 we created a team of Section Editors to help out with the running of the site - now we have a team of editors who with their hard-work and dedication help update and maintain various sections of the site.

The site is continually expanding. Westlife are a global pop group, and although they may be perhaps most popular in the UK and Ireland, they have fans around the world; even in countries where they have yet to release records! Westlifeweb.com, although based in the UK, aims to be broad-ranging in its scope. Using the unique opportunity of the internet to open doors and dissolve borders, we aim to bring fans around the world together, to create a community that informs, entertains, and encourages interaction and contribution. We encourage site visitors to develop their creativity through the subject matter of the band, and we welcome submissions and contributions from anyone.
