Place: Newcastle Telewest Arena
The lights dim and the screaming starts.... and then the music... it's kinda Matrix-inspired, think Rob D (if you own the Matrix soundtrack you'll know what I'm talking about!!)... 3 pillars on the stage start to turn round to reveal screens, which would be very awe-inspiring and impressive what with the eerie music and all, except one of the pillars gets stuck and a man has to come out from beside the stage and push it round, lol...
And then on the screens we see the Earth... and the camera zooms out so that we're slowly seeing the planets go by. Then we focus in on one bright star and then... the screens show a man walking down a dark corridor accompanied by alien-type beings (think X-files!!) and at the end of the corridor.. a door.. and behind the door.. a white room with 5 hospital-type beds arranged in a circle... and lying on them (you guessed it!) - Westlife - except their eyes are covered with a bandage and we see on the screen that they have no heartbeat?!!?!? So the creepy doctor-type man picks up his electric shock revival things and thankfully revives all of Westlife. Shane is revived first and we see their heartbeats appear on the screen, as Westlife blearily open their eyes (cue much screaming!!) All this and Westlife aren't even on stage yet!!!! Then we see Westlife walking back down the corridor and the scene fades out, replaced by green letters falling down the screen (yet again reminiscent of the Matrix.!!)
and then on the screen.....
Knock Knock And cue the music for Dreams Come True...!
Are You Ready To Dream...?
Do Dreams Come True...?
The pillars revolve around again and the spotlights come on to reveal Westlife dressed in alien-type space suits, standing on the pillars. And then BANG! fireworks and Westlife abseil down to the stage...
And as they sing they do a kinda robot-type dance (kinda hard to describe!) and their dancers, who are dressed in white alien costumes undress Westlife (woo hoo!) except underneath Westlife are wearing these white alien kinda suits too, with grey patterns on them (that look like they glow in the photos but believe me, they are actually grey lol)
The song merges seamlessly into No No and Westlife are still dancing, and still looking fab, and still singing live, lol...

Then they each say a little bit to the audience... Hi Newcastle etc etc... Bryan tells us "Sorry but we're cutting the show short tonight, we're only having 2 songs cos Kian's got diahorrea" haha. Kian laughs. And so does the audience :op
Next up is If I Let You Go, complete with red flags on the stage and fake wind machine... maybe they were trying to bring back memories of the flags in the video?? I dunno!

Now, despite all Nicky had said earlier about Westlife not 'sitting on stools' for the show, what do Westlife go and do?? They go sit down...albeit not on stools... lol... I guess they need a break tho cos the dancing is *very* energetic, and so they sing Swear It Again...

Then back come the dancers, and out come the chairs... for Somebody Needs You. But they're not sitting on them, oh no, they're dancing with them (kinda BSB-esque if you ask me, but it is oh-so-cool when they jump over the chairs *g*)

Away Westlife go for a quick costume change while the audience is shown a series of countryside images on the screen... there's a stream, and a tree, and the sea... and while I'm standing there thinking, maybe they're singing My Love next?, the music starts and no, I'm wrong, as usual! and it's Seasons in the Sun! Out come Westlife looking very snug in their warm coats..and they walk along on travelator/conveyor belts on the stage (I know what I mean anyway even if no-one else does!!). And then...everyone in the audience almost has a heart attack as Westlife start to strip, pulling the sleeves off their coats...especially yours truly as Shane throws his clothes at my feet lol...shame the security snatched them away :op

Seasons merges into I Have a Dream and we get cool bubbles on the stage!!! So pretty!!! lol

Next up, Westlife do a climbing thing over their set and perch on the ladders and on the various bits of the stage to sing You Make Me Feel....

Now it's time for another costume change, in the meantime the screens show pictures of the dancers putting on makeup, and so we all know what's coming next.......... it's When You're Looking Like That! We get cool fireworks (which set the stage alight lol and have to be extinguished by one of the stage hands..) and we get, best of all, Westlife in shiny trousers!!!! There's a very bizarre bit of the song where Westlife sit on the stage and watch their dancers dance, I'm sure the lads enjoy it *g* but it struck me as kinda odd anyway... Meantime Kian and Shane are doing their best air guitar impressions which is always amusing!!

Unless I'm very confused (which is quite likely) My Love was the next song, and Bryan invited the audience to blow the microphones towards them (blow what?! ah don't be so dirty! says Bry, making everyone laugh!!) but the micrphones magically got blown to them.... with the aid of the conveyor belts...lol...
After a short interlude Kian appears on stage all by his lonesome, telling us he's had an arguement with the others and that they've all gone home (yeah right!) so he's gonna do what he did before Westlife and play us Wild Thing! apart from he just plays the first four bars and then smiles at us "Nah only joking, this is More Than Words" and launches into that song, the rest of Westlife walking out on stage to join him :o)

The Motown Medley is next, consisting of My Girl (acappella no less!), a couple of covers done solely for the tour, Can't Get Next To You, Baby I Need Some Lovin', and What Becomes of the Broken Hearted. In the middle of all this the guys even find the time to intorduce their band, which gives Kian an excuse for some raunchy dancing...and the audience for lots of screaming...!!

Fool Again's next and then we have another short break as Westlife get changed again.... and onstage the dancers act as if they're welding stuff (except they're not obviously, they've just got firework thingys...) and then the music starts and, how cool?!!? It's Uptown Girl!!! And Westlife come out in these red mechanic suits, which have their names in glittery letters on the back... and out comes a vintage car and Westlife open the bonnet and out comes a posh lady (well, it's one of their dancers, but anyway..) wearing a hat, and Westlife dance and pretend to knock each other over by accident, and it's hilarious!!!!

What Makes a Man follows, and the the guys tell us that that was the last song of the evening, and they say their thankyous and goodbyes and leave the stage...........
But we're not fooled, and we stay waiting for them to come back, screaming and shouting and mexican waving *g*, and sure enough, Westlife return eventually, dressed in white to sing I Lay My Love On You.
Except this version of I Lay My Love on You starts out verrrrrrry slow... but it speeds up and it's quite cool after all :o)
And then *sob* we really do come to the final song of the evening... Flying Without Wings. Westlife come out through a cloud of smoke tied to a big metal grid suspended over the audience, which looks quite scary!!! And they move out over the audience, about half way back in the arena, and of course the crowd goes WILD!

Then finally it realy is goodbye and Westlife disappear back into a cloud of smoke and the spotlights dim... and on the screen the words appear:
Dream Over
