> >16th April 2003 Westlife celebrate.... & more news!
As you have probably heard, Westlife's latest single, Tonight, entered the UK charts at number 3 - see a pic of Kian after a night out celebrating their chart success (in London club Click) here!

Celebrations were also in store at Dunk 'N' Funk 2003 celebrity basketball tournament, held at Crystal Palace Sports Stadium on April 30th, where the team consisting of Kian and Bryan, Hanif (MTV), Jason Gorman, Michael Bree (French league player) and a member of the BMG radio promotions team won all their games against D-Side, Triple 8, So Solid Crew and One True Voice in an exciting final which Westlife won by two points!

This evening the guys are hoping to pick up awards at the Capital FM Awards, held in aid of Help A London Child, which takes place at London's Royal Lancaster Hotel, where they are nominated for Favourite International Group, Favourite International Single (for 'World Of Our Own'), Favourite Concert (for the 'World Of Our Own' Tour) and Favourite Music Website (for westlife.com)

...Look out for a forthcoming frank Nicky interview in OK! Magazine.... Nicky looks set to sign a lucritive six figure sum deal with the magazine, after a friend of the band said ,"Yes Nicky is in talks at the moment and he looks set to sign the deal soon." He will apparently give an indepth interview about ups and downs in his private life, wiping the slate clean and introducing us to two very special people in his life. When asked who these two special people were the friend simply said: "That's what the whole deal is about. Nicky wants to wipe the slate clean, you'll have to wait for the deal to be finalised to find out."

Meanwhile, Westlife's ‘Unbreakable Greatest Hits’ Tour kicked off in style in Cardiff on April 13th. Check out reviews on our Touring '03 page! Apparently the stage alone cost seven million euro. The band’s hectic schedule of gigs involves travelling the length and breadth of Europe to do 62 concerts in just over three months. Next stop is the London Arena tomorrow night, April 17th. According to a source close to the guys,“The band have put a lot of effort into their performance with hectic rehearsals right up to last Sunday night. First night nerves are now over and the boys are ready to make their mark with their biggest tour yet. The stage runs the whole length of each venue so fans get to see the boys as much as possible.” Popband Six who were formed from Irish Popstars programme (and who are managed by Louis Walsh) are the support act.

> >4th February 2003 Mark joins the Bleach Boys
As you may already know, Mark dyed his hair blond while in Ireland over Christmas. He said "I got bored with my old hairstyle and I fancied a change. The other lads have been giving me a bit of stick but they're getting used to it."

His new look can be seen in the video for Westlife's forthcoming single, Tonight, which was filmed in London on January 15th. The single will be out in the shops on March 10th.

Apparently Mark not only sported a new hairdo for the video - but also a black eye (covered up by makeup though!). A source stated: "We managed to cover it okay for the video, but it took us a while to bully him into telling us how it happened. Apparently he'd had a drink or two the night before and because the combat trousers he was wearing were so baggy, he tripped over and bashed his eye."
