thanks very much to Dora for this transcript!

Laydees, be on your gueard as Westlife go on the prowl for their perfect Christmas Cracker...

What laydee would you most like to spend Christmas with?
Shane (thinks for absolutely ages): Nicole Kidman? Oh, I don't know! It's too hard!
Nicky: My family and my girlfriend. I don't usually sped Christmas Day with my girlfriend though, as she's with her dad - we meet up later in the evening.
Kian: My family. But i love the idea of spending the days leading up to Christmas with a girl, holding hands, going shopping, putting on cuddly jumpers, and stuff.
Bryan: Jennifer Love Hewitt. She's amazing and so beautiful. In interviews her personality is gorgeous too. She's lovely and...
Mark: Yeah, alright! I always say Mariah Carey without really thinking about it. Sarah Michelle Gellar is very nice, and Jennifer Love Hewitt, and Jennifer Aniston...

Describe a typical Xmas night out on the town with the lads?
Shane: we go out early and hit the best clubs around. We'll have a few drinks to calm our nerves - I'm not that confident with girls.
Kian: It used to be the pub at nine, stay until 11, then on to a club. Now it's a bit of a pub and club crawl! Then we'll go to a party, then home, then sleep all day!
Bryan: After a few drinks we chat up every girl we see!

Is Xmas good for chatting up girls?
Shane: Valentine's Day is the best and Xmas is the second! The best time to find a girls is just before Xmas, then you can be with someone over the holiday.
Nicky: Yes, I don't think anyone cares who they snog! Everyone's happy at the time, then a few weeks later it's 'Oh Nooo!'

Is Christmas the best time to be in love?
Nicky: Oh yes. There's nothing better than sitting in front of the fire with a girl when it's freezing outside!
Kian: Christmas is a very romantic time. If you're in love you're very lucky. Bryan: It's good to be in love at Christmas, it's the best time. (Jokingly) But for those of us who aren't, it's a good time to be single as well! Mark: Yeah, it's a real bonus if you're in love with someone - and they love you back of course!

Do you have more luck with the laydees at Christmas?
Shane: I do actually! One really long-term relationship started at Christmas.
Nicky: I think everyone does. It's a happy time, and everyone just goes for it!
Kian: At Christmas, fellas go looking for girls, but girls just want a good time
Bryan: I suppose you have a better chance 'cos there are more parties and everyone's in a good mood.
Mark: I don't think I have more luck - no more than at any other time of the year!

What's the best Christmas chat-up line you've heard?
Nicky: I don't use chat-up lines and I can't remember hearing any good ones!
Kian: I don't use them either. But how about, 'How'd you like Santa to put me in your stocking this Christmas?'!
Mark: I'm not very good at chat-up lines - I prefer a girl to approach me.

Where's the best place to go on a Xmas date?
Shane: If I could fly them somewhere, I'd take a girl anywhere it's snowing! I'd rent a cabin somewhere really cold and cook them a lovely meal and snuggle up in front of a really nice fire!
Nicky: I wouldn't. Christmas for me is about my parents' house, or my gran's.
Bryan: Just for a walk in the snow - it's simply beautiful.
Mark: Walking through town at Xmas is very romantic. Everything's buzzing, lots of shoppers, Xmas lights. It doesn't have to snow, but it helps!

Where's the best place to pull at Xmas?
Shane: At a party, definitely. Everyone's hugging everyone - it's easy to take it a bit further, heh-heh!
Nicky: The pub on Christmas Eve. Xmas parties are pretty good too. And if you're at the office party and fancy someone, you've got the best chance ever to pull them!
Kian: Parties! There's a good mix of people!

Have you ever used mistletoe as an excuse to kiss a complete stranger?
Shane: Oh yes! I walk around with a big bunch of it all night, heh-heh!
Nicky: I used to do it with my sister's friends. But it never led to anything - they were all older than me!
Kian: No, and I don't intend to! (Jokingly) This Xmas I'm going to walk around with mistletoe in my pocket, and if a nice girl comes along I'll take it out and snog'em!
Bryan: The year before last I went around with a sprig, kissing every girl! It worked quite well! If I could choose anyone, it'd be Jennifer Love Hewitt...
Mark: Last year we were in a club just before Christmas and I brought some mistletoe with me for a laugh. I managed to trick a few people into kissing me under it!

Ever been dumped at Christmas?
Shane: No, but I was dumped one time, about four days before Christmas. But I didn't care 'cos I liked one of her friends.
Kian: No, but I have dumped! She still got the present I bought her though! Last year I met a girl over Christmas and I was with her for three or four days, but I broke it off 'cos I was away so much.
Mark: I haven't been dumped, but I remember one Xmas when I was really nervous about tests we had at school. I also got into a fight. It was all a bit miserable.

What sort of present would you buy a girl at Christmas?
Shane: It's good to buy a girl stuff she'll use, like a TV or a hi-fi. But only if you've been going out for a long time! Jewellery's good too.
Nicky: It depends on your budget. It's nice to give a ring or a bracelet. Last year I got my girlfriend a Gucci watch, shoes, clothes - I practically bought her the shop!
Kian: I'd take a girl into a shop and say, 'What do you want?'
Bryan: I'd buy her a puppy. That's romantic. I wouldn't mind if she bought me one too!
Mark: I'd buy her a box of chocs so I could have some too! No, I'd probably buy her a jewellery and then something small, like a woolly hat.

How would you react if your girlfriend bought you a really nasty jumper?
Nicky: She wouldn't buy it unless she knew I'd wear it. If I got her something that didn't work out, I'd be a bit disappointed. It would be fine if it just didn't fit, but if she didn't like it then I'd be quite embarrassed.
Kian: It depends on the relationship. If we'd been going out a long time I'd probably tell her I'd never wear it, otherwise I'd say I liked it.
Bryan: I'd accept it and wear it when she was around.
Mark: I'm very honest, so if I don't like something, I'll say so. But if she'd saved up and put a lot of thought into it, I'd like it even if it was horrible!

What do you hope to find in your Christmas cracker this year?
Shane: I wouldn't mind a Ferrari, but you can't fit that into a cracker. I know a cheque for ten grand!
Nicky: A little note saying Westlife's album's gone to number one.
Kian: A nice ring.
Bryan: A double platinum album!
Mark: The winning lottery ticket - definitely!
