Set your alarm clocks for my love

Hi Nicky here,

TOMORROW is the day when you'll get the chance to hear our brand new single, My Love, for the first time on radio stations nationwide.

It will be hand delivered to all the radio stations at 730am tomorrow, so I'm sure 2FM radio and all the other stations will be playing it on their breakfast shows tomorrow morning.

But if you're able to pick up Dublin's FM1O4 on your radio, then that's where you'll bear it first. FM1O4 have the world premiere of My Love. So, if you want to set your alarm clocks you can hear it on their Strawberry Alarm Clock at 7am.

GETTING to No 1 in Ireland this week with Against All Odds has been a fantastic surprise for us.

Of all the singles we've released, Westlife didn't have such high expectations for this one because we didn't get the chance to promote it extensively.

Mariah Carey has been busy shooting a film in Canada, so she wasn't free to team up with us for promotion. That meant we couldn't perform the song because obviously she wouldn't be with us.

Louis and our record company were hoping for a Top 5 hit, so getting to Number 1 is an added bonus. It just shows what fantastically loyal fans we're lucky to have on our side.

Now we're keeping our fingers crossed that we'll get the same result in the UK today. If it does, it will be our sixth UK today. If it does, it will be our sixth UK number one single and another little piece of history making.

THERE hasn't been a lot happening in the Westlife camp this week as we've been busy working in Sweden on three new songs for our new album.

The album is called Coast To Coast and will be in the shops on Friday, November 3. It will follow the release of My Love, which goes into the shops on Friday, October 27.

LOUIS and myself got the opportunity to see Irish pop newcomer David Caplice perform at the Miss Ireland contest and we both thought he was brilliant.

David has just released his first single, Dreams, which is worth checking out. I do think he has the talent to go far, but, of course, it's not always about whether you can sing or not...there are so many obstacles to overcome in this business.

I would never put myself in the position of being the big Star telling others what to do because, to be honest. I'm still shocked by what's happening to my own career with Westlife. All I can do is tell up-and-coming performers what I know and how tough it is.

David tells me he was born in Australia and raised in Cork, but is now based in Limerick. He got experience m the music business performing with bands like December Child and Quest. He even did the 2FM Beat On The Street like ourselves. Now he's hoping that Dreams will see him finally realise his dream of major chart success. It's produced by Chris O'Brien and Graham Murphy, the duo behind the massive success of the Dove single, Don't Dream. The single also features guitar by Ray Harmon of Something Happens.

Watching David perform at the Miss Ireland reminded me of Westlife's first performance at that same event. I remember how we were so nervous; it was really, really nerve racking for us going out on stage in front of all those people.

But fair play to David, he was really superb on the night. He had a couple of good songs and a nice routine. So let's hope his own dream comes true.
