Stuck with only our dreams of home

How shooting our new video was so close to our hearts

Hi Kian here,

WHILE we'll be keeping our fingers crossed for another Number One this week with the Mariah Carey collaboration, Against All Odds, we spent Thursday and Friday in Ireland working on the video for our next single, My Love.

The story line of the video is one that's close to our hearts. It's about Westlife looking forward to returning home from our travels. Then our hopes are dashed.

We're in an airport; we haven't been home for a long time and now all of a sudden we're going home. Then we're told our flight has been cancelled.

So we're stuck in the airport imagining being in all our favourite places in Ireland. This video will be shown around the world and it will feature some of the most beautiful attractions that Ireland has to offer, like the Cliffs of Moher in Co Clare.

The video was shot in Clare and Limerick. We're singing on a beach and there's a street scene in Limerick. It was a lot of fun and caused a great deal of excitement in the area.

It was just like a big film shoot with 120 extras taking part in the video and I'm sure they're looking forward to seeing themselves when it comes out.

We did the video in real Hollywood style with a helicopter hovering overhead at the Cliffs of Moher shooting all the scenes.

It's really exciting doing the new single because it's off our next album, which will be available in the shops from November 6. It's almost finished now and we'll spend next week in Sweden wrapping it up.

IT'S been a really hectic week for me. At the weekend we were in Sweden doing a gig for 5,000 local Westlife fans.

We also did a 14-hour photo shoot for all the magazines to promote our next single.

We were smiling from eight in the morning until 10 at night. That's showbusiness, but I suppose it beats real work.

On Wednesday I shot a commercial for the new Euro currency. Basically, I'll be introducing the Euro to Ireland. In the video, I tell you that this time last year a CD cost £12 and this time next year it will be 16 Euros. Remember that £1 gets you one Euro and 27 cents.

NICKY is on a high week after buying his dream car, an oriental blue BMW 318 Cl, with cream leather interior. I will probably buy a BMW eventually, but I'll wait until I get a new family home.
