THIS week I can announce a new Westlife performance - we'll be
appearing
on Childline at The Point in January.
It's going to be the an amazing pop concert to kick off the New Year
and
we're so thrilled to get the opportunity to be a part of it.
The organisers Caroline Downey, Justin Green and all at MCD have put
together an incredible line-up to make it the most memorable Childline
extravaganza so far.
On January 27 the Point will explode into action with the all-singing,
all-dancing spectacular that also includes our friend Samantha Mumba,
who is currently wowing the Yanks.
And there's more. Bryan is thrilled that the poptastic event also
features the fabulous Atomic Kitten and his lovely Kerry.
Billie Piper is going to be there, as well as our friends in A1 and
Girl
Thing. Louise (formerly of Eternal) tells me she's also up for it and,
in fact, it will be her very first live performance in Ireland, so
she's
looking forward to that.
Boyzone fans are in for a real treat on the night; Steve Gately is
coming home to whip up the excitement level to fever pitch and Keith
and
Shane will be performing their single, Girl You Know It's True, which
is
due out any day now.
Ireland has a great new boy band on the way and they're really unique.
They're called Reel - those of you who were lucky enough to be at
Ronan's concert in the Point on Monday night will have seen them in
action. They've been described as a cross between Westlife and The
Corrs, which sounds interesting.
Don't believe everything you read in the other papers about Mel C and
Westlife, she loves us really. And she has also agreed to peform at
the
Childline concert, which is great news.
All the money goes to a very worthy cause, the ISPCC, and tickets
priced
£25 are now available for the Point show. It will also be
broadcast
live
on Network 2 that night. I can't wait!
ON Thursday night we celebrated our MTVAward in the Best Ireland and
UK category...in London.
Although the awards took place in Stockholm, we were busy working
on
our new video
and couldn't make the event.
It was a real thrill to pick up an award, having watched MTV growing
up
and now finding ourselves in the same league as superstars like
Madonna.
Our thanks to all the fans who voted for us and that's what made our
award all the more special. The fact that it was a public vote.
