WE'VE had the most amazing time here in the States, hanging out with
superstars like Sylvester Stallone, Eddie Murphy, Whitney Houston, the
Backstreet Boys and Mark's favourite female singer, Mariah Carey.
It felt like all our dreams had come true when we found ourselves in the
same room with all of those celebrities and a few more besides, including
Britney Spears, TLC, Lenny Kravitz, Barry Manilow and 'N Sync.
The event was a pre-Grammys party and we couldn't believe our luck when we
got an invitation to join the other famous guests.
It was a bit scary, actually, looking around the room and seeing superstars
all over the place.
Nicky said he was there thinking, 'I'm from Baldoyle and here I am hanging
out with all these people, it's mad!'
I was the same, thinking, 'I'm a country boy from Sligo and I'm sitting here
looking at Sylvester Stallone across the table and Whitney Houston has just
got up to sing.' It's just mad the life we have these days.
This week we've been in Los Angeles shooting a new video for the American
release of our single, Swear It Again.
It was filmed in a car wash with five gorgeous girls and we had a lot of fun
making it. The director is a guy called Nigel Dick and he did all of Britney
Spears singles.
In the first shot we're wear-ing black trainers, cream trousers, white
T-shirts and cream jackets. Then it switches to us performing and we change to
really slick outfits.
We've had a great time here in Los Angeles and we went up to the Hollywood
sign to get souvenir photographs. There are amazing views over LA from that
vantage point.
We took a drive along Sun-set Boulevard and went shopping in the Beverly
Centre where all the Hollywood stars can be found browsing through the racks
and shelves.
It really is another world over here and I love the lifestyle. It's been a
laugh-a-minute along the way.
Last weekend we were in Boston doing promotion and during a signing session
in a store Shane met some of his cousins who live over here. So that was
really cool.
With our next single, Fool Again, set to come out at the end of the month,
we'll be heading back across the Atlantic for lots and lots of TV
appearances.
We're also looking forward to getting home for a couple of weekend breaks to
chill out with family and friends.
I THINK you are all absolutely, totally, utterly and completely gorgeous.
I'd go mad if I didn't listen to your album at least twice or three times a
day, or look at you, which I can't help because my room has over 80 pics of
ye. Hugs, kisses and loads of support.
Katherine J. Dee, Leany-brien, Co Waterford.
YOUR column in the Sunday World is fab! I met Nicky and Bryan in the
Berkeley Court the day of the Childline concert and you were so nice to me
and so good looking in real life. I really can't wait for a Westlife
concert. I also thought your performance at the Childline concert was The
Bomb! Kian, you are the most sexiest guys ever.
Miriam Lehane, Cork.
WE'RE really thrilled because we think Westlife is the best band in the
world and our parents are into you as well. Our Mum's favourite Westlife
song is Seasons In The Sun. Hopefully, we'll all get to see you in concert
some day.
Eilish and Mary Naughton, Ballylanders. Co Limerick.
I LOVED your performance at the Westlife concert. My favourite single is I
Have A Dream/Sea-sons In The Sun. And I can't wait for Fool Again to come
out. My greatest wish is to meet you some day.
Priscilla Ward, Ballymun, Dublin 11.
I WAS delighted when I found out you had a column of your very own in the
Sunday World. Your number one fan is me.
Suzanne Smith, Cootehill, Co Cavan
KlAN, I think West-life is the best band ever and I was so thrilled to meet
you in January at your home. I've got your video, your books and everything
that's ever printed about you. Love to all in Westlife.
Tracey League, Mullingar, Co Westmeath.
