AS YOU may have read through the media this week, 5ive have been slagging us
off.
We're really surprised by them, as there's never been any bad feeling
between the two groups. ..till now.
They had a go at us, so we answered back. It so happens that 5ive are in
Ireland this weekend, but we're working in the UK, so we won't bump into
them.
But it's going to be interesting the next time we meet. Watch this space.
Anyway, we've just got fantastic news from America about the release
there of our single, Swear It Again. It has gone straight into the charts at
No 42, which is a really great start as we expected to enter somewhere in
the 80s.
Drop
The way the American charts work is completely different to this side of the
world. Here you go in high and drop down. In America, you go in low and
climb. So it's fingers crossed, but we're so excited at the moment.
I've just been to the dentist for three fillings, so I'm feeling a little
bit wuzzy as I write this. But hey, I can't complain, 'cause we've been
having a real buzz promoting our new single, Fool Again.
This week has been spent doing a lot of TV interviews and we've also been
working on a new dance routine for Fool Again. Even though it's a ballad, we
wanted to have some good dance moves for the TV shows. It makes it more
interesting to watch.
Apart from all the promotion work, we've been busy working together on new
songs for our next album. We're going to be writing a lot of our own stuff
for the next one and we're making real progress. Some of the songs that have
already come together are better than we ever imagined.
Everyone in Westlife has contributed to them. We work together and we also
mix and match.
Myself, Shane and Bryan team up, Bryan and Shane have collaborated and Nicky
and myself have worked together while Mark has also been in the middle of
it.
So we all bring our own ideas to the songs and, hopefully, you'll like them
when they come out in the future.
I WATCHED you on television at the Childline concert. I taped it on video
and I must have watched it a million times. I wish I could have been there.
Oh well, my sister says that she will bring me to your next concert.
Maria Devine, Letterkenny, Co Donegal.
MY sister and I love Kian and Shane and think ye are the sexiest beasts
(angels) alive on earth. My dream is to see you all in Limerick one day. By
the way, how was sunny Australia as I'm from there and I nearly died when I
heard ye were there.
Stacey Hannigan, Limerick.
SUNDAY, February 13, was the best day of my life when I attended the
Childline concert. From the first line of If 1 Let You Go to the last line
of I Have A Dream the tears rolled down my face in the Point Depot. I am
your biggest fan and all my dreams came true that night. Your new single,
Fool Again, is brilliant and everyone loves it as you probably know from
hearing 6,000 fans singing it back to you at the Point. Good luck in
America.
Shauna Keegan, Co Cavan.
I THINK Nicky is gorgeous and I was really upset when he was only shown
once or twice at the Childline concert. Love to all, especially Nicky.
Aoife Collins, Crumlin, Dublin 12.
MY best friend Mary and I are massive fans of Westlife. We both think that
Shane and Mark an extremely cute. We an always hoping to meet you sometime.
Marie Kevane, Tralee, Co Kerry.
BRYAN, I prefer you to all the others in the band. You are my number one.
You were so cute as a kid and you still are.
Patricia O'Neill, Co Wex-ford.
