Shane comes home to horse around

Hi Shane here,

THIS week I finally got the chance to play with my 21st birthday present - Carlton the horse!

Westlife got a few unexpected days off from work on our new album in Sweden, so we all headed home.

I arrived in to Sligo during the early hours of Friday morning, so the weekend has been spent with Carlton.

He's my pride and joy. Carlton, son of Clover Hill, is a big bay gelding and my mam and dad gave him to me a pressie.

Unfortunately, due to all my travels with Westlife, I don't get the chance to spend that much time with him. But he is going to be broken in and trained as a show jumper and my brother will be riding him in the shows.

It's been great to get back home for a visit as it will be a while before that happens again. We're off to South America on Wednesday to do more promotion over there.

Wild

That's a territory we're really looking forward to visiting as the fans go absolutely wild. It's the same reaction we get in Asia where they're all really enthusiastic.

Then it'll be back into the studio to continue work on the album. Work that's going really well. We have written about 20 songs and we hope to get 10 really good ones from those. If some of them make it on to the album we'll be delighted, but it's not a main priority.

We're also getting fantastic songs from other producers and fans are going to be really surprised.

The producers we're working with in Stockholm are the same guys who were responsible for eight songs on our last album, as well as the singles If I Let You Go and Fool Again. The step up from the last album is amazing, so we hope you like it when it eventually hits the shops.

THIS is what you've all been waiting for - the essential Westlife item to own EVER!

And today we're giving 20 Sunday World readers the chance to win a copy of The Westlife Story DVD.
