Kian: we're not exactly superstars or anything but life has totally changed for us
Nicky: yeah, you can say that again - ten months ago, I was earning a living running karaoke nights with my dad
Bryan: now complete strangers stop us in the street and chat like were old friends. It's pretty weird. Yeah but not as weird as having famous photographers taking your pic, or make up artists to hide the bags under your eyes surely?
Nicky: it is weird sitting in a chair while people try and make you look beautiful
Kian: I'm still not used to people fussing around me all the time.
Shane: yeah, but it's nice not having to worry about bad hair days. How swanky are you now?
Kian: well, I don't think twice about calling abroad on my mobile phone. pretty cool
Nicky: but it's not that swanky is it?, you're normally phoning your mum How much of your dosh goes on cool designer clothes then?
Bryan: not a lot, but our record company spends thousands for us - we're constantly kitted out in designer gear.
Mark: but it's not just coz they're designer, they're better quality than normal clothes.
Shane: just ask Kian about it.
Kian: (laughing) OK, OK I admit it. I've spent a fair bit on clothes- I love gucci and once I bought a suit from yves st laurent that cost £500 - I was in shock afterwards What have the rest of you splashed out on?
Shane: I bought a beautiful BMW. When I first got it, the lads piled in with me and we rolled the windows down and went cruising
Bryan: Shane's having a love affair with that car+ACE- the other day he phoned home and made his dad start the engine, so he could hear it purr
Nicky: I bought a car but I sold it again. I'm never at home to use it
Bryan: I got a motorised skateboard and crashed it the next day - what a waste So, whats your next major purchase?
Mark: eventually, I'd like to get myself a small apartment and buy new cars for my parents
Kian: nah. I want a ferrari
Bryan: I want to buy my mum and dad a house to set them up for life
Shane: I promised my sister that when she got married I'd give her my car. Now that I've got the BMW, she's just got engaged
Nicky: you'd better get a beaten-up second-hand car for her instead Do you feel guilty about shelling out on clothes and cars?
Nicky: oh yeah, but, when I tell my mum she just says "if you can afford it, treat yourself" - so I do
Kian: and we need to look good for our fans too
Nicky: yeah, but what's wrong with a £20 jacket?
Kian: man, if my dad knew how much I spent on clothes he'd kill me Do you hang out with other celebs a lot?
Shane: when we went on tour we shared a tour bus with Ronan and Keith from boyzone
Bryan: yeah, we often go out partying with them
Mark: it's good to see Ronan let go a bit. Hes' been famous for so long you forget how young he really is. Sometimes hes not the cool popstar at all. He gets really excited about things - just like a kid. I think he's missed out on a lot by being famous. Are you worried that youre missing out too?
Mark: kinda, there are so many things we can't do now
Nicky: I know we're never gonna have our old lives back.
Shane: yeah, I dont like going out in my home town anymore coz youre never sure whether some people are gonna hug you or hit you.
Bryan: yeah, and they expect you to buy them drinks the whole time
Shane: thats why it's much bettter to just put on your trackie bottoms and stay in and watch tv....
Kian: and get your mum to make your tea, just like the old days
the others: awwwww! What about all the glam things stars get up to?
Bryan: well we went to a theme park in dublin with Ronan and Yvonne once, and the attendants stopped all the rides and made the queues wait 'till we'd had a go
Mark: but I felt uncomfortable pushing in in front of all those people
Bryan: yeah, but it was good fun. After one of the rides there were a load of people trying to buy this snap of us screaming our hearts out - how cool is that? Are you tempted to 'borrow' stuff from the posh hotels you stay in?
Kian: very! we've had bathrobes, towels, smellies.....
Shane: I took a pillow once so I'd have a comfortable journey home
Mark: I did take a couple of bathrobes once but I honestly didn't realise I had to pay for them
Bryan: sure, sure. Good excuse! Do you go to many star studded film premiers?
Shane: I've never been to one but I'd love to walk along that red carpet with all the camera flashes going off, it would be so exciting
Mark: we were invited to the Star Wars premiere but we were too busy to go, which was a shame.
Bryan: we did go to the Dolce and Gabbana party in Milan, though. we were surrounded by all these top models and posh celebs. Do you get star struck?
Shane: all the time! we were at an awards thing once when Will Smith walked past us. I was gobsmacked
Bryan: yeah, getting our picture taken with all these famous bands. It was amazing!
Nicky: the one that got me was when I went to the opening of Planet Hollywood in Dublin and Sylvester Stallone turned up. I couldn't believe it. I just kept thinking - "that's rocky" - I was so excited I couldn't even talk to him Finally, which of you is most likely to do a Shane Lynch and get a bizarre haircut?
Shane: (laughing) it's inevitable isnt it? there's always someone in every band who goes a bit 'funky'!
Bryan: I reckon it'll be Nicky
Nicky: I dont mind. Shane's cool, and hes one of the nicest people you could ever meet
Kian: yeah, everybody knows what he looks like and thats what fame's all about, isnt it?
