Has Success changed you?
It's matured me. We've had to grow up quickly because there's so much at stake. In the last six months we've chilled out an awful lot. We realise we all want the same thing - we're five individuals going in the same direction. If one of the band is being out of order, then others will be sure to tell him.
What do the lads have to pull you up on?
Normally it's because i've said something stupid. We all do something silly now and again. Bryan is the worst though - he always forgets things. Once we were in Taiwan and Bryan was late down to the bus because he couldn't close his suitcase. Nicky and I ran upstairs to help him. We both sat on top of it, and Nicky said, "Are you sure you have everything?" and he was adamant he had. So I opened his wardrobe and there was all his dry cleaning hanging up!
What have you learned on your travels?
That basically every country's the same, except for its temperature and culture. And that I love Sligo more than any place in the world.
What do you do back in Sligo?
Enjoy the countryside. It's amazing how long you can go without seeing the countryside while you're away, so i go out on my horses or play golf. I might even just get in my car and drive around. The only reason i'll go into town is to see my mates and then we won't talk about Westlife - I want to hear what's going on in their lives. But the main thing is sleep. When i'm at home I don't get up until 3pm.
What do you do when you're in America?
I love shopping. We go to the Beverly Centre in Hollywood and I could spend all day in there, buying stuff and trying out the restaurants.
Looking back, what would you have done differently?
The styling. Our black and white phase was pretty rank. We get to wear alot more of our own thing now - the T-shirts and jeans we're wearing today are the sort of thing we'd wear in our own time.
Do you ever give it the big "I am" ?
No. I see people behave like that and it makes me determined never to act the same way. I've met Bono and he was such a nice guy - so you can be a legend and still be a great person.
What's been your lowest point?
I was gutted when Bop Bop Baby only got to number 5, because me and Bryan wrote it together. But it was a good kick up the backside - if you get complacent, there's always someone ready to come and take your place at the top.
