How's fame changed you?
Dramatically. It's really matured me. Y'know, I'm 22 and I'm dealing with lawyers and accountants.
Accountants eh? What are your biggest extravagances?
I bought a house and a car. Oh, and I did pay £2,500 for a leather jacket which I've only worn ten times. But I don't really go in or buying toys - that's more Bryan's thing. I buy jewellery, though. I've got a diamond ring and a watch.
Do you enjoy the trappings of fame?
Nah, it makes us laugh. We were in LA the other day and got a strech limo to a club where we met Stevie Wonder. We just ended up cracking up. Me and Shane are a couple of lads from a small town in the west of Ireland - what are we doing here?!
Are celebrity parties all 'poncey' ?
Sometimes. I don't like all those fancy-ass restaurants. I went to one in LA and ordered lamb, and what I got was this weird-tasting slab of meat that was paper thin and stretched across the entire plate. Give me my steak any time.
What do you think of stars who get all carried away with their celebrity?
Put it this way, if Christina Aguilera had tried to move me, not Mark, from my chair I'd have been (stands up with a firm, dismissive flick of the hand), "See you later, love".
What does every pop star's favourite champagne, 'Cristal' taste like?
Definitely not the way it should for the money it costs. A run of the mill Bollinger's better.
We'll take your word for it. Have you achieved everything you set out to do?
We really want to break America. But I don't think we realise what we've achieved yet. It's when i sit down with my kids and say "Well, I did this and I did that," that's when it's gonna smack me right in the jaw.
You want kids then?
Definitely, when the time's right. I think it's possible to have a family and a pop career. It just depends on the person you're with.
What's been the funniest moment so far?
The other day, Bryan checked into a hotel using a fake ID supposedly belonging to Elvis Presley. The woman at the desk was, "Wow! are you related to the king?" and Bryan said, "Yeah I am. Just give me my room key."
What did the Pope say when you met him?
Well, he's an old man now so you can't have a conversation. You just go up and kiss his hand.
Are you still in a band with your brothers?
Oh yeah, I love to plug in my guitar, turn the volume up to ten and make alot of noise. I like to rock out and let it all out.
