This week Munawar Shariff met up with Kian and Mark for a different kind of chat...
They were talking to television crews, to the waitresses!! When was I gonna get my turn? I wondered. Then it happened ...and almost at that! Almost, becoz I only got hold of Mark and Kian! Tough luck or what? But I'm not complaining. And as Mark said, "Maybe next time (as in Feb 2001 ...ssshhhh!!) we'll get to spend some more time together! Fingers crossed, then, huh? Neways, read on now...
Young Times: If you could be any one of these female artistes, who would you choose to be? 1) Britney Spears 2) Christina Aguilera 3) Jennifer Lopez 4) Mariah Carey
Kian: Jennifer Lopez.
YT: Why?
Kian: 'Coz I'd just sit there looking at myself in the mirror all the time!!
Mark: I'd definitely be Mariah Carey, to find out what's it like to be able to sing like that.
YT: If you were abducted by aliens and you had to sing to save your life, what would you sing to them?
Kian: Angels by Robbie Williams.
Mark: I'd sing (thinks real hard) I swear by Boyz to Men.
YT: If you could be completely invisible for a day, what would you do?
Kian: I would just spend all day in ladies' changing rooms.
Mark: Um... same here!
YT: So, you wouldn't like to (hehe!) spoil someone's concert?
Kian: No, never. I would never want that happening to me, so I wouldn't do it to anyone else.
Mark: Wreck someone's concert? I know how much work goes into that, so I would never.
YT: If you were really charged up and jumping at a gig and your trousers tore, what would you do?
Kian: I'd continue doing what I was. Wouldn't let that stop me.
Mark: Well I'd put my hand on where it tore and try to go to the side of the stage and get the people there to see if there was anything I could change into.
YT: If all five of you got stuck in very small lift, how would you try to get yourselves out of the situation?
Kian: Well, Nicky would probably kill everybody first.
Mark: Nicky would freak.
Kian: Nicky can't stand being in lifts, first of all. He goes mad.
Mark: He has a phobia of getting caught in lifts and he would freak out totally, we'd probably have to, like, knock him out so that we could, maybe, try and save ourselves from the lift. If he was still conscious then he would go crazy until we got out.
YT: What's your worst nightmare?
Kian: Probably to be just stuck in a field when it's pitch black and not know where to go. I'm, like, totally lost... that would be scary for me.
Mark: My worst nightmare would be something happening to my family and friends, something bad happening to my family or friends.
Kian: Well, that as well... obviously.
YT: How would you try to get a girl interested in you?
Kian: I'd be myself. I think the best way to chat up a girl is don't bother using silly chat up lines. I mean, just be yourself, go over and say: "Hello! How are you? Would you like me to buy you a drink?" You know, just have a conversation, get the person to actually know you as a person and nothing else, I think that's the best way.
Mark: I think, personally, try and have a laugh with someone, you know, try and get people laughing and having a good time, so its easier to break barriers.
YT: If you lost your memory, what would be the on thing that would remind you of things again?
Kian: Probably my family.
Mark: I think going home to my house and, say, bringing everyone I know into the house and sitting down and talking to everyone for a long time. Then, it think, maybe I'd start to remember everything hopefully. I'd hate to loose my memory. It'd be like the last 20 years of my life going down the drain. And, like, I'd have to start all over again. All the friendships and relationships that I've built up would be a terrible thing to happen.
YT: Do you guys fight over clothes?
Kian: No, I never do. Hmm... I think that if the stylist comes in and there's some nice clothes there it's just that everyone runs to get the best clothes. It's a simple as that. And whoever gets there first gets there first, and its tough luck for everybody else.
YT: If you could be a different life form...?
Kian: I think I'd be a lion. 'Coz they're just free, they're wild, you know, nobody can come near them. It's, like, they're on their own and, like, nobody can touch them.
Mark: If I could be a different life form, I'd be a bird. Some sort of bird, so I could fly all over the place. I'd love to see everything from way up above.
YT: What are the five most valuable things in each of your lives?
Kian: Five? I don't know. My family, my friends, my job, my health... I mean, I probably couldn't rate it very well.
Mark: Mine is family, friends, health, happiness, job and mobile phone!!
