The last seven years were marked by our ascent to the peak of our musical career. Never have the five of us imagined that a common childhood would eventually come true before our very eyes! From being normal lads leading normal lives in Sligo and Dublin, the world saw us mature into artists privileged to have graced countless stages, won industry and popular acclaim, achieved a record-breaking string of number one singles and massive record sales, and touched the lives of fans everywhere.
While we are still in the fullness of our young lives, we, Westlife, are bidding farewell to the recording and entertainment scene - for now.
At this point, this is what we discern to be the most fitting way to cap such a young and beautiful career. This decision has been carefully deliberated upon not just by the five of us, but by the wonderful people who have made Westlife the success that it is today. Nonetheless, we have come full circle - from the time our dreams were conceived, to this moment when new dreams are being realized.
Our latest and final offering is a collection of songs that best describe what we, collectively and individually, feel about our present lives. All of them are sincere and heartfelt. All of them are for you.
We thank everyone who have made living this dream possible: family - our greatest source of love and strength, beloveds - for keeping our feet on the ground, friends - old and new, record company, Louis Walsh - for making it happen for us, Ronan Keating - for teaching us how to fly, Anto Byrne and security - for being our family on the road, management staff, our creative pool - writers, musicians and choreographers, producers, our allies in media, sponsors, and everyone else in the world who have given assistance and encouragment in every way. Our apologies to those we have ever failed to acknowledge - we owe you one!
Most importantly, we extend our deepest gratitude to our FANS, without whom, the last seven years would have gone by insignificantly. We sincerely reagrd and appreciate you for making our music your own and for making us a part of your lives. As long as we remain in your hearts you will always be in our hearts. We shall never, ever forget you! We LOVE you so much! xox
