Cara
"Whoaaaa!" Nickay threw out her hands to catch me "Cara slow down, what's the rush?" asked Nickay. "Why didn't you wake me??" I exclaimed. "You were tired from work last night I was just going to let you sleep on.don't worry I was going to wake you in five minutes" Nickay said, putting on her coat. "Don't you realise??" I said with my hands on my hips. "Realise what?" Nickay looked puzzled. "I only have five hours to get ready for the Westlife concert stupid!" I was reeling, I had to look perfect. Nickay laughed at me. "Cara just relax. I'm going to visit my mum, I'll be back later and THEN we'll get ready. Okay?" Nickay said grabbing her keys and opening the door. "Yeah you will, I won't I'm starting right now" I said rushing upstairs. I heard Nickay sighing and closing the door. I was a major Westlife fan, because of their amazing voices and they were also gorgeous to boot, ESPECIALLY Shane. 4 hours later, I was ready and pacing the floor waiting for Nickay. She wasn't back yet and I was totally freaked out. The phone rang and I sprinted for the receiver. -Hello -Caz? -Nickay!! Where the hell are you? -You'll never believe this -Too right I won't -Listen.I just bumped into my aunt who said she had two FRONT ROW Westlife concert tickets for sale!! -OMG seriously -Yeah.and guess what? -What? - I BOUGHT THEM!!! -OMG I LOVE YOU!!!! -I'm at the SECC now. So hurry up!! -I'll be there -Okay bye -BYEEE I grabbed my coat and my bag that had the essentials; mobile, camera, money and ran out the door. The train ride felt like forever but it was actually only ten minutes and I was there. I ran through the tunnel. I felt like a teenager when I was actually 20. Nickay was waiting for me outside the venue; I ran to her and hugged her like crazy. We had a half-an-hour to kill, so I decided I'd get to the souvenir shop before it got busy. I bought an Irish flag; flashing stick; signed photos, poster and a t-shirt, it was expensive but worth it. The lights were dimmed and the smoke on the stage began to flow around the stage. I was excited and nervous; I'd never been front row before. Nickay was dying to see Nicky and I couldn't wait to see Shaney baby! ."Suddenly she's leaving" Omg I thought this is it. ."Suddenly the promise of love has gone" NO I'M HERE I'M NOT GONE ."Suddenly breathing seems so hard to do" The beat kicked in and they appeared in stunning white suits coming down from a suspended podium. And there was Shane. Smiling and gorgeous.my perfect man. We were coming to the end of the show and I was having the most amazing time. Bryan and Nicky had winked at both me and Nickay but still Shane hadn't noticed me until the next song. "Hiya guys! Hope you've all enjoyed the show" Shane said smiling at the crowd. They all went wild, especially me! "The last song that we're going to do is dedicated to the beautiful girl in the front row..." I wondered enviously who it was looking down the row, Nickay apparently doing the same. ".Took My Hand" Oh Unbreakable, my favourite song, it made me cry. ".Touched my heart" Shane was kneeling down. ".Held me close" He was pointing. ".You were always there" I stared into his hazel-green eyes. They were amazing ".By my side" Omg, he can't be. ".Night and day" He is! ".Through it all" HE DEDICATED THE SONG TO ME! I burst into tears. Then I felt myself being pulled by someone strong. The security lifted me up on stage and I was caught by Bryan and Kian. Over-whelmed they stepped away revealing Shane, walking toward me. ".Baby come what may" He had my hand, and I was still crying. I could see Nickay she was jumping up and down for me, screaming all the while. Half-way through the song the security pulled me backstage. It was all a blur until Shane came off stage. "I hope I didn't embarrass you, Cara" Shane said, smiling his gorgeous smile at me. "Oh no.wait.how do you know my name?" I said then it clicked and I gasped. "Cara I cried for weeks after you left" Shane said. I remember now, I went to Ireland on holiday one year. I stayed with my aunty for a month and I got to Shane through going to the 'Carlton Café' so much. Shane and I shared a holiday romance. I fell in love, but I didn't think he did. "You mean you did love me?" I said smiling through the tears again. "Of course, but I just couldn't pluck up the courage to tell u that?" he said shyly. I wiped my tears and smiled when I saw the face I'd known for years but never recognised. He was kneeling beside me and before I knew it he had cupped my face in his hands and gently kissed me. I couldn't wait to tell Nickayla. Suddenly the curtain was drawn back violently and a blonde woman, looking furious, was storming towards us. "Oh No!" I heard Shane gasp. "SO! DIDN'T YOU REMEMBER THAT I WAS FRONT ROW WATCHING YOU.DARLING!" she said sarcastically. "Gillian let me explain!" Shane pleaded. "NO! "THIS IS DEDICATED TO THE BEAUTIFUL GIRL IN THE FRONT ROW" EXCUSE ME FOR BEING STUPID BUT I WAS PRETTY SURE THAT WAS ME! YOU KNOW US BEING ENGAGED AND ALL!" Gillian screamed, poking her finger at Shane. I stood up, feeling confused, and looked from Shane to Gillian. "You're engaged?" I asked, tears in my eyes. "Yea, I'm sorry Cara.I'm so sorry" and Shane ran off, leaving me and Gillian alone. For a minute the silence stood between my tear filled eyes and Gillian's fury. "You know he's going to stay with me.I don't care who you are, he's mine!" Gillian said, stepping closer so that she towered over me. "Listen I.I.Oh do what you want! But I'll always love Shane.always!" I turned and left, I couldn't stand there any longer. Shane I was confused; torn between the woman I loved and the woman I thought I loved. I didn't know what to do, I loved Cara but I felt like I couldn't let Gillian down now. It was only 3 months to the wedding and we planned it all, I thought I was in love. After leaving Cara and Gillian and ran to the dressing room with tears in my eyes, Mark saw me and followed me inside. "Shay? What's up mate?" Mark asked sitting down in the chair next to me. "Cara, Mark! Cara!" I said openly crying now. "Cara? As in Cara Spence? Well you haven't seen her since.what.when you were 14?" Mark said, thinking hard. "She was here Mark? We pulled her up on stage! God I didn't know for sure when I was singing but I knew I knew her; I felt something" I said, head in my hands. "Oh man! Umm.what you gonna do? Whoaaaa! Gillian was in the audience!" Mark said suddenly clicking. "I know, I don't know what I'm gonna do!" I said pouring myself a drink. Cara I laughed at myself, I mean for a minute there I thought the man I loved was actually going to be with me. But I forgot nothing's that simple, there's always a catch. And Gillian was the catch. I caught the train home; I didn't feel like explaining to Nickay what had happened. When I got home I got my pyjamas on and settled myself on the couch with Sky and lot's of comfort food. There was a program on TV, an entertainment report, filling you in on all the goss! "And in other news, Shane from famous Irish boy band 'Westlife' has set a date for his wedding to child hood sweetheart Gillian Walsh. Shane spoke to us earlier today before his show in Glasgow. "Gillian and I have set a Christmas date for our wedding, 27th December at Sligo castle and we're very excited." Oh great that's all I needed! God my life was a mess. The phone rang shrilly and I picked it up. -Hello -Cara? You alright? -Nickay.I'm sorry for running out on you.it's just.oh never mind! -No come on what is it? I told Nickay everything, sobbing quietly while talking. She insisted on coming over but I told her I was fine and got on the subject of how amazing, apart from the obvious, it was to be up on stage with Westlife. 3 months Later It was my mum's 50th Birthday party and Nickay and I were getting glammed up for it. We were having it in Sligo, my mum's favourite place in the whole world. And mine too, because I met Shane there. I still hadn't forgotten about the incident but accepted that nothing will happen but that didn't stop me loving him with all my heart. My mum was already in Sligo on holiday and wasn't expecting a surprise party, so this would be a nice surprise. When Nickay and I arrived in Sligo we decided to see the sights first, I hadn't been here in ages but I still knew my way around. When we came to the 'Carlton Café' I stopped. "What you doing?" Nickay asked. "This is Shane's parent's café" I said smiling. I noticed that there was closed sign and I was confused because it was not any where near its closing time. We walked on and made our way to the hall my dad had booked when there was laughing and cheering. When I turned round I was greeted to the sight of Shane wearing a white tux. I gasped. Nickay wheeled round and quickly grabbed hold of my arm and ran with me. When we got into the hall I hadn't completely recovered but I had to keep a brave face for my mum, who hadn't arrived yet. The party was in mid-flow when my younger cousin, Conor, got up to sing. He had such and amazing voice. He launched into a rendition of 'Against All Odds' with me looking on in awe. How can I just let you walk away? Just let you leave without a trace When I stand here taking every breathe with you Ohhh You're the only one who really knew me at all. "GO GET HIM!" I heard Nickay scream in my ear. I turned round and looked at her. "If you leave now you'll catch him before he says 'I do'" she said and hugged me. "I'll take u there" said a strange voice. When I looked round I was surprised to see Mark there. I'd met him that summer with Shane and we were really good friends. "MARK!" I hugged him tightly. "Come On Cara.hurry" he pulled me outside and almost shoved me into his car. We sped along the streets and pulled up in front of Sligo castle. We both ran in to the ceremony in a spectacular entrance. Everyone looked around at us. "Cara?" I head Shane whisper through the stunned silence. I ran up the aisle towards him, Gillian, although looking pretty, was fuming. "Shane, I can't let you do this.I.I.I love you too much to let you see this through" I said staring into his gorgeous hazel-brown eyes. He smiled. "SHANE! YOU ARE NOT DOING THIS TO ME!" Gillian screamed. "Sorry Gill.love ya and all but I truly and deeply love this woman and even YOU can't stop that" Shane said and took me by the hand and we ran outside where it had begun to rain. There was a black prev car waiting outside and the window rolled down to reveal Bryan, Mark, Kian and Nicky, I hadn't even realised that they weren't there. We ran to the open door and climbed in. The guests had all rushed to the entrance to watch us. Shane looked out the window and shouted "Sorry Mum" to a small lady wearing a lilac suit. She simply smiled and blew a kiss. I knew she was happy for us. 2 Years later My dress was white; traditional and had a long trail. Just like the dress I had always dreamed about. My tiara glistening in the sunlight and my veil twinkled like a pearl. I was ready. Ready to become the happiest woman on earth, Mrs Cara Filan. Nickay, Nicola, Stephanie and Kim were my bridesmaids and I couldn't be happier. When I pulled up Sligo castle, I thought back to the day I ran in on Shane's wedding to Gillian, and thought how lucky I was to be actually getting to marry him. In my mind there was no doubts, all I could see was the happiness in front of me. The inside of the castle was decorated with red and white roses and rose petals were sprinkled up the aisle. When the music started, there were no nerves, all I could see was Shane at the top of the aisle and I knew how right this felt. Walking up the aisle, many people were laughing, I had chosen "When you're looking like that" to walk up the aisle too and I had chosen Westlife songs instead of traditional hymns to sing. Shane was smiling as I approached him and I returned the compliment. He was gorgeous. His hair was as always neat; his suit was white like a prince and his face said it all; he was ecstatic. We had prepared our own vows; "Shane for many years I thought about you, longed to see you I didn't see that you were right there in front of me for a year and I didn't know it was you. When I first met you when I was 14, I never thought that it was love. Until the day I left and all I could think about was you and I couldn't stop crying. Shane Steven Filan, I love you truly, madly and deeply with my heart, soul and body. You are my soul mate. There Is not need to ask me will I take you as my husband. I do" "Cara. Love is precious. Love is safe. Love is forgiveness. Love is passion. Love is warmth. Love is minutes, hours, days. Love is a bond that can never be broken. Love is there to see you through. Cara~Elizabeth Spence love is YOU. And I do" We kissed passionately and received a rapturous applause from the guests. We left that night for our honeymoon, but it wasn't in Paris or Spain. It was a midnight picnic on Sligo beach. The place we both met each other. I fell asleep on Shane's chest, gazing at the stars. Nothing could be more perfect. |
