'But if I let you go, i will never know what my live would-"Juliet sang out of tune and was cut short by her older sister,Julie. "Shut up Juliet. I'm trying to listen to the radio. Anyway it's 'life', not 'live' you idiot,"Julie said. Juliet ignored her and continued singing. Julie scowled at her and turned the volume of the radio higher. "...so the first five callers to call our radio station when you hear westlife's If I Let You Go and you will get the chance to see their concert at Suntec City, meet them personally AND bring them around Singapore in their three days stay in Singapore!"Daniel, the deejay exclaimed and continued,"and westlife fans, you should thank me because.....I'm playing If I Let You Go now! So grab your phone now!" And the song started playing. Julie practically flew down the stairs to the living room,grab the phone and punch in the number. The phone rang two times and Daniel answered the call. "Hi this is Perfect Ten and I'm Daniel. Who is this?" "I'm Julie,"Julie said breathlessly. "Oh man, you're the sixth caller and now you can't get to see westlife,"Daniel said sadly. Julie's heart sank. She badly wanted to see westlife. "Nah, I'm just joking, actually you're the second caller!"Daniel said laughing. "REALLY?! I'M GOING TO SEE WESTLIFE??!!OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH!!"I screamed. "Yes you are and congrats. You will be informed for further information. Bye and happy waiting!" Daniel said. "Bye..."Julie said weakly. She couldn't belive it. She's going to see WESTLIFE!!! > > Chapter 2 Thank you for coming to see us! We love you all!"Kian shouted as Shane,Nicky,Bryan and Mark waved goodbye to the screaming fans as they return backstage. "Come on girls. It's time to go and meet the guys," a girl,called Fiona, working for westlife said. "Oh my gosh,"Lydia, one of the winners whispered. She and Julie had made friends within the past hour and Julie found Lydia's favourite was Nicky while hers was Shane. Julie's heart pounded as they made their way to the backstage. She was afraid that she's going to do something stupid and embarrass herself. And on the three days tour, she was afraid to show the guys to the wrong places because she too was from Sligo and her mum had married her dad from Singapore and they just moved to Singapore for 2 years. She did not know Singapore very well. They stopped in front of a closed door and she could hear muffled voices behind it. Suddenly, the door swung open. There stood, holding the door knob was the most gorgeous guy Julie ever see. She felt as if she could melt there. Shane just look so good and sexy. Shane stared at her and she stared back. "Hey come on! Don't block the doorway Shane! I wanna see the girls!"Bryan said to Shane, pushing him aside. Soon, the other guys came out. Everybody started introducing themselves. When Shane came to shake Julie's hand, he held it a second longer and stared into her eyes a second longer. It would have been longer if Nicky didn't come and interrupt them. "Hello? I hope that you all don't mind that i interrupt but I guess you all would want to go for dinner right?" Fiona asked loudly through all the 'hellos' and 'I am...". Everybody turned their attention to her. "Before you all proceed for dinner, can you boys find a girl each to accompany you each for the next three days?" Westlife nodded and turned towards the five girls. Shane approached Julie. He was opening his mouth but Nicky interrupted again,"Hey she's mine!" "No way,"Shane punched Nicky lightly on his arm,"she's mine!" They continued to argue playfully over who should Julie choose. "Umm...do you mind if I choose instead?"Julie asked. "Sure,"both of them replied together. Julie was afraid to make Nicky angry but decided to go with her idea. "I'll have Shane. Sorry Nicky." "Hey, it's alright. I'll go with Lydia,"he said lightly. "Well, so it's me and you," Shane said and smiled at her. She smiled back shyly. "Oh my gosh," she thought to herself," I have a feeling that this is just not a twenty-year-old crush." Shane hold her hand lightly and led her to the waiting car. > > Chapter 3 " Hey Julie, thanks for your company," Shane told Julie as the car stopped in front of Julie's house. "You're welcome. I should be honoured. To think that I would ever have a chance to spent dinner with a pop star!" she said as they stood in front of her front door. There was a awkward silence. "Well, I think I'll see you tomorrow!" he broke the silence. Julie nodded. As he turned away, she pulled his arm and quickly planted a kiss on his left cheek. She blushed as he returned it on her cheek. She waved and quickly dart behind her front door. > > Chapter 4 Julie laid on her bed. She stared up on the ceiling. She couldn't sleep even though her body was tired after spending the whole day at Sentosa with Shane. The other reason was because Shane and the other guys were leaving the next day. She just couldn't bear the thought of leaving him. The past three days had certainly brought the both of them closer. She turned to her side and tried to make herself sleep. But her eyes still remain wide open. She gave up and decided to go and get a drink. She tip-toed down the kitchen careful not to wake her family. But she was surprised when she saw the light in her mum's office room on. She stopped in front of the door. She realised that she didn't have a long talk with her mother for a long time. She was busy with her university studies while her mum was busy with her law cases. She used to go to her mum when she have any problems and she thought that this was the right time. She knocked on the door lightly . Shane woke up. He was dreaming that he and Julie were getting married when suddenly there was a shout. He looked around the hotel room and realised that he was sitting in front of the television with the guys and it was Mark that shouted. "What happened?! Was there a robbery?" he asked flustered. The rest of his band members looked at him. "Um, I shouted. Liverpool just scored a goal."Mark confessed. "Nothing happened,"Kian said. "Oh."Shane said flatly. He sat there thinking about Julie though he was staring at the television. He had told her to meet him in the restaurant downstairs his hotel the next morning and he had decided to tell her his feelings about her. He had loved her the moment he sat his eyes on her. But he didn't-. His thoughts was interrupted by Mark's cheer again. "Hey mate! What's wrong? Liverpool just scored! Wait a minute! You're not watching! Wait a minute! Me and my exclamination marks!" Nicky said to Shane. "He's troubled,"Mark said. Kian rolled his eyes and exclaimed "Mark?! Any idiot would have notice that! Even if Shane likes to daydream, he wouldn't be soooo into it that instead of going through the front door, he went through the toilet door! And he put salt instead of sugar! And called me 'Bryan' instead of 'Kian'?!" "Hahaha! He...haha...ac..haha..actually did that?!Hahaha!" Bryan asked between his laugh. He stopped when Nicky shot him a scowl. " Hey what's wrong?" Mark asked, finally putting aside the soccer match. "It's Julie right?" Nicky asked. "I really like Julie. I mean love! You may find it ridiculous-loving a girl in just three days-but it's love at first sight! Now I don't know if I should tell her how I feel. If I tell her, she may not even like me! Oh man...what should I do?" Shane sighed heavily. > > Chapter 5 "Hi mum. Are you free? I need to talk to you." Julie popped her head through the door. "Sure honey. Come in," Mrs Lee said. Julie sat on the chair across her mum. "Mum you know Shane?" " Of cause!" "Well...I'm having...um.. the same feeling I had as... last year when I met Jeremy," Julie fumbled to find the correct words. "You mean you like him?" Mrs Lee asked. "Honey, if you like him, you should let him know. Don't keep the feeling to yourself." "I know mum...but...never mind mum. Thanks for your time. Goodnight,"Julie said and went out of the room. "Hi Julie,"Shane greeted her. "Hi." "Um, you said you wanted to tell me something?" she looked across the restaurant table at him. Shane looked uncomfortably at her. "Uh yeah. Do you believe in love at first sight?" Julie stared shockingly at him. "You mean you like me?!" she asked. Shane nodded. She was stunned dead. She just couldn't believe that a pop star would actually like her! "I'm sorry Shane. I cannot accept this. I mean I do like you but-" she suddenly just broke down in tears. Shane hurried to her side and hugged her. "Please don't cry. Don't cry,"he pleaded,"it hurts me to see you cry." Julie looked into his eyes. "I'm so sorry,"she whispered and with that, she ran out of the restaurant crying. > > Chapter 6 1 YEAR LATER... "Hey Julie, Westlife is coming to Singapore again!"Julie's friend, Amy, yelled over the phone. "They are?"she asked weakly. She took one whole year just to forget about Shane and become a normal fan but why must they come back again? "Do you want to go and see them? I bought two tickets already!" Amy said, excited. "Can I not go?" "You must. I know you are scared but you have to overcome this stupid feeling on Shane. Anyway if you don't wanna see him, then at least come and see Boyzone! They are performing the first song. Please. Please!"Amy begged. "Alright,"Julie gave up. > > Chapter 7 Shane ran out the stage straight after the last song and tried to find Ronan. "Ronan, do you have the car keys?"Shane asked urgently. "Where are you going? We're leaving Singapore in two hours!" Ronan asked. "Just pass me the keys. Please." Shane said through clenched teeth. "Hurry!"he shouted. Ronan quickly took the keys out. Shane grabbed it and flew to the car park to catch up with Julie. No way he's going to let her go now. Shane tried to see through the wind screen but the rain was too heavy. He could see Julie's car one car in front of his. He took out his cell phone and punched in Julie's number. The phone rang and Julie picked it up at the other end. "Hi Julie. I'm Shane. Can you stop your car? I'm just a car behind you." But instead of stopping, Julie's car shot forward. Shane tried to follow but the car in front of him was too slow. He decided to change lane. But he didn't realised that a speeding truck was on that lane and when Shane changed into that lane, the truck banged onto Shane's car and he was thrown forward. His head hit the steering wheel and everything went black. Julie's heart jumped when she heard a loud 'bang' behind her. She stopped her car and turned back. She gasped when she saw Shane's car and he was lying on the steering wheel. She scrambled out of her car and ran towards him. "Shane. Wake up Shane,"she shouted. She didn't dare to touch him in case she hurt him. "Shane..wake up!"she cried. Her heart pounded hard. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING THERE?! CALL THE AMBULANCE!" Julie screamed at the crowd of passerby that had gathered. "Please don't die.Please," she wept. It would be her fault if he dies. Everyone's going to blame her. > > Chapter 8 Shane slowly open his eyes. He closed it again when his head started pounding. Then he remembered Julie. He have to see her. "Julie,Julie" he whispered weakly. He opened his eyes. Julie immediately rushed to him when she heard him calling her name. His other bandmates gathered around the hospital bed. "Julie?" "Yes? I'm here"Julie said. "Where am I?" he asked weakly and groaned when he touched his bandaged head. "You're in the hospital,"Nicky replied. "Does it hurt?"Mark asked. Kian rolled his eyes."Mark? Of cause it hurts,"Kian sighed. "The doctor said you will be alright,"Bryan said. Shane nodded. "Do you mind if you guys go out for a while? I want to speak privately to Julie,"Shane requested. The guys nodded and left the room. Julie hold Shane's hands. "I thought I was going to lose you," Julie said, tears dropping. "I'm sorry for rejecting you Shane. I was so-" "Shh. Can you let me say something first?" Shane asked. Julie nodded trying desperately to wipe away the tears. "I love you Julie." The words just made her cry more. "I love you Shane," she whispered through her tears. He started singing "But if I let you go, I will never know what my life would be holding you close to me. Will I ever see, you smiling back at me. How will I know If I let you go." "Julie,will you marry me?" Julie nodded and kissed him on the lips. He returned the kiss. After a few seconds, they started singing 'If I Let You Go' together. |
