June 14th - June 16th 2002, Dublin, Ireland
By Marita from Holland, jkoelman@wanadoo.nl

This is all about my weekend in Dublin, June 14th - June 16th 2002.

Friday June 14th-

We finally arrived at Dublin airport, after a 2 hour delay. it was now 11.30 in the morning and the sun was shining in Dublin :) We picked up our suitcases and took a cab to our hotel. Our hotel was in the city centre, 2 minutes walk from īO connell street.
We dropped our suitcases in our room and went......SHOPPING!!!!!!!!!!!
We didnīt buy much though, cause we had a weekend to go, so we wanted to save our money. That night we went out in Dublin which was great, and we went to bed at 4.30.

Saturday June 15th-
Finally....the day of the gig!! We were going to the matinee show, so we were at The Point Theatre at 10.30, as the doors would open at 11.30. Our seats were pretty close to the stage, and I hung up my dutch flag.
The support acts seemed to last for hours, but finally the globes went up and it was time for Westlife. The concert was great, even though we had seen it before in Holland.
After the concert, we saw Nicky&Georgina, Mark and Kian leaving in their own cars, and we decided to go to their hotel to see if any of them were there. When we arrived, we saw Kians porche, so we decided to wait there. After a few minutes I saw a girl that I knew : Jessica Forsman!!! (aka Kians girlfriend)
She left the hotel, but she wasn't really nice, she didnt say anything when we said hello she just looked at us like we were nothing, and she got into the car. After her Kian got out of the hotel, and he signed my ireland footieshirt, and I took a picture with him. He was a lot nicer than the other times I met him in Holland.
That evening we went out again, but we went to bed a bit earlier than the night before.

Sunday June 16th-
The entire irish nation was nervous about the match......Ireland vs Spain.
Even though Iīm not Irish, I feel like I am sometimes, so me and my mate walked around in our Ireland footballshirt as if we were irish ourselves.
We decided to go to Nickyīs house. When we nearly arrived at his house, to girls came up to us and they asked us if we were fans. When we said we were, they said that Bry&kez were gonna watch the match in a pub just around the corner, so ofcourse, we went there.
When we arrived at the pub, we didnīt get in because you had to be 18 years or older, and you needed tickets.
So we waited outside, and we saw Bryan and Kerry arriving and getting in. The match had just started when one of the securitylads said we could go in, without paying! So there we were, watching the match in the same pub as Bryan and Kerry. We didn+t go up to them during the match, cause thatīs not fair to them, so we left the pub after the match, and we met them outside.

This weekend has been absolutely great, and Iīve totally lost my heart to Dublin. Iīm definitely going back there in a few months.
